Inside a Copod

Study together from the same page.

Everything in a Copod starts from the notes your group shares. Meet on them, focus on them, practise from them, and get help with the topics you find difficult.

Reaction rates

A reaction only happens when particles collide with enough energy. That minimum is the activation energy, Ea. A catalyst offers a route with a lower Ea, so more collisions succeed. The catalyst itself is not used up. Heating the mixture also helps: more particles clear Ea.

Questions

What exactly is a study pod?

A study Pod is your group’s shared workspace on Copod. Create one around a subject, course, or exam, then invite classmates to discuss ideas, share materials, practise flashcards and quizzes, and run focused study sessions. Your group’s resources and learning activities stay together, making it easier to pick up where you left off. Pods can be public or private, with membership and hosting limits based on the owner’s plan.

Is Copod free to use?

Yes. Copod has a Free plan for getting started with its basic study and collaboration tools. Starter, Plus, and Pro provide additional features and higher allowances for Pods, storage, AI tools, and live collaboration. Each plan has defined limits, so you can choose what fits your study needs. Hiring a human tutor costs extra and is paid separately from your subscription.

How do focus sessions work?

Focus sessions give your study time a clear structure. Choose a Pod, set a study duration and break length, and start or schedule a session. Members can work alongside each other using a shared focus timer, whiteboard, and notes. Voice, and video where your plan allows it, helps the group explain concepts and work through problems together. You can use sessions for quiet revision, group discussions, or tutor-led lessons.

What do the AI tools actually do?

Copod’s AI helps turn study material into something you can practise. It can generate flashcards and quizzes from supported resources and create recaps from Pod discussions and session notes. Personal study tools also help eligible users work through their own materials independently. Available tools and monthly allowances depend on your plan. AI-generated content should be checked against your course materials, particularly for important facts, formulas, and explanations.

Who are the verified tutors?

Tutors are people offering help in their chosen subjects. Copod distinguishes identity verification from qualification verification: an identity badge indicates that an identity check has passed, while a qualification badge indicates that submitted credentials have been reviewed. Look at the tutor’s profile, subjects, experience, verification badges, availability, and rates before booking. Eligible Pod owners can hire a tutor to help their group, with tutor fees charged separately.

Do my friends need an account?

Yes. Each person needs their own Copod account to join a Pod, participate in sessions, and keep their study progress. You can invite friends through a Pod invitation link or code. They can start with a Free account; access to particular activities depends on their plan, the Pod’s settings, and available allowances.

Does it work on my phone?

Copod is a web application that you access through your browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. A phone is convenient for checking discussions, reviewing materials, and practising flashcards or quizzes. A larger screen is more comfortable for detailed whiteboard work and studying documents side by side. Live calls require a suitable internet connection and microphone or camera permission.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Copod is preparing for launch. Before paid subscriptions open, we’ll publish the options for upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling, including when changes take effect and how they affect your allowances. You’ll be able to review those terms before subscribing. The Free plan will remain a separate option for basic use.

How do I become a tutor?

Choose the tutor sign-up option and create a profile describing your subjects, experience, and the help you offer. Complete the required identity checks and submit your qualifications for review. Once approved for bookings, you can set your rates and availability and manage requests through your tutor dashboard. Creating an account alone does not grant verified status.
